You know those big, heart-felt plans you've been envisioning the past month or more?  Well, now the time has come to test which of those plans it's worth applying detailed effort to complete.  The New Moon in Virgo asks us to take care of logistics, paperwork and organizational details related to plans and promises we've made to ourselves or others. We've got to get the structural details right before applying surface cosmetics.  We've got to floss before we apply lip gloss.

If you're a Virgo or Gemini, you may be familiar with the detailed, task-oriented energy present this month and enjoy the ability to get things done.  Each of us, no matter our sign, may find this is a month in which we look back and wonder how we accomplished so much.  This New Moon, however, asks us not to demand perfection or get fixated on the notion of maintaining order, because circumstances could change and and change again with the New Moon's opposition to surprise-prone Uranus.  Rather, break big projects into small tasks and acknowledge each item, no matter how small, that gets completed and crossed off the to-do list.  

The Full Moon September 17 illuminates the Virgo-Pisces spectrum, asking us to balance logic with feeling, work with relaxation, analysis with insight.  Our goal: to achieve a fluid order, in which structures may remain in place, but details move in and out of structures easily.  

The week of September 18-24 may be the most challenging of the month, as pleasure-loving Venus gets a slow-down signal from Saturn and the transiting Taurus moon triggers Mars, which forms the apex of a yod configuration present at this New Moon.  September 20-22 may bring a world event of some note, possibly relating to financial matters, international relations or war and peace concerns.

Mars retrogrades October 1, giving us several months of opportunity to evaluate our assertive and aggressive urges, along with the effectiveness of our actions related to money, possessions and values.
