Some signs love it.  Some signs hate it.  Some signs can take it or leave it--"it" being the need to deal with details in life.

The sine qua non of detail dealers is Virgo, the sign that enjoys cleaning and sorting, serving and selecting, discriminating between wheat and chaff, finding and fixing flaws.  Good careers for Virgo include cleaning company owner, computer programmer, engineer, precision pilot, fine woodworker, classical musician, systems analyst.

Other signs may not understand or appreciate Virgo’s need for hair-splitting levels of detail.  Yet consider the everyday machines and routines in which one detail out of place can make a life-or-death difference:  automobiles, airplanes, medical machinery, administration of medicines, computer programs, chemical measurements, surgery. Less critical but nonetheless important details underpin the flow of business (cash registers), commerce (overnight delivery service), media (Internet, newspapers, radio, television) and domestic arts (sewing, quilt-making, errands).

For some astrological signs, a narrow focus on details may actually be psychologically painful.  Sagittarius, Pisces, Aries, Leo and the air signs Gemini, Libra and Aquarius typically take a expansive or detached view of life.  Thus these signs often don’t want to persistently narrow their focus to see fine detail if they don't have to.  Yet persisting past initial levels of discomfort in applying the practical work and detailed focus of Virgo will be a key to success this month.  

With several Virgo planets conjunct the Moon’s South Node this month, though, avoid getting too stuck in details without seeing the bigger picture.  It’s the perfect month to get lots of work done, including perhaps the biggest autumn cleaning you’ve done in years, but it’s also a month in which an overwhelming pile of work may best be met with a couple hours off to take a nap, take a bath, bake a cake, go for a walk, watch a movie, go to church, light a candle, watch a fire, write down a dream, or otherwise allow intuition time to play its role.

This New Moon/Solar Eclipse at 29 degrees Virgo gives us an opportunity to finish up projects or plans started near the August 23 New Moon.  Find missing pieces of information, analyze data more closely, get details on paper, or narrow focus in some way until you have a complete outline, thorough report or finished piece of work.  For projects or plans initiated within the last month to pan out in the long run, further organization and specifics must be added to the mix.
