Touch

Every action of our lives touches on some chord that will vibrate in eternity.
               -Edwin Hubbel Chapin

It's time to come down to earth and enjoy the sensual signs of spring under the New Moon in Taurus.  Buy comfy new sheets or furniture, take a mud bath, walk in nature, garden, give more hugs and kisses, cook or bake something hearty, get a massage, do pleasurable exercise to increase body awareness, or sit quietly and pay attention to body signals.  These and plenty of touch are good activities for creating stability and physical security this month.

Whereas Taurus tends to hold on, accumulate and stabilize, which will be important themes of the month, Scorpio tends to show us where we need to let go, release and become more dynamic in the need for change and evolution.  Don't be afraid to gather and accumulate this month; it's a Taurus New Moon after all.  However the Full Moon in Scorpio May 12 reminds us that the entire month is a balancing act between building up and securing what's right for us while simultaneously letting go of what isn't.  This isn't just theoretical stuff -- powerful emotions around money, possessions, and our underlying values, as well as about our physical and financial security, may emerge mid-month.  It's a good time to shore up personal finances by balancing accounts and making spending or saving plans, as well as to target any joint financial enterprises of interest for either now or the future (perhaps near November 20, 2006, when the New Moon will be in joint-finance oriented Scorpio).

The most stimulating, high-aspect days this month are May 7 and May 12.  Use the energy to accomplish if you like, but realize activity or tensions could be high.  Mother's Day, May 14, brings harmonious lunar trines before 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time, making morning events likely to especially please Mom.  The entire day the Moon is in jaunty Sagittarius, so travel or outdoor activities including a drive to a local mountain top with a beautiful view might be just the thing to give Mom and everyone an expanded sense of possibility.

Neptune retrograde May 22 suggests an inspiring shift in dreams, ideals, creativity or spirituality.  Practically speaking, getting enough sleep is the best thing to do on a Neptune station, which includes May 20 (when the Moon enters Pisces) through May 23.  May 21 is the most important night to get ample sleep, and record any interesting dreams. The entire week of May 21-26 may arouse passionate feelings; these could be deeply inspiring yet wait at least a few weeks to make sure they're realistic.

Male planets (Mars, Uranus, Jupiter) in a water-sign (feminine) trine all month suggests that we become sensitive to and appreciate deep feelings this month wherever they should arise.  Men and women alike, but especially men, can receive planetary assistance to bring emotional expression into good balance. Water-related activities are likely to be rewarding as well.  This is a wonderful time for gardening and appreciating nature's beauty, especially near water.  Skip a stone or cast a pebble on the water, and as the water ripples out, imagine it carrying creative and healing vibrations to those whose lives you touch.

NEW MOON FORECAST FOR SUN AND RISING SIGNS
(sign dates are approximate depending on year of birth)

ARIES (Mar 21-Apr 19):  The New Moon occurs in your Second House of earned money, possessions and values.  New work or income opportunities may come your way this month.  It's a great month to establish new foundations in your work and surround yourself with coworkers or clients who share your values.  Practice giving and especially receiving in equal measure this month.  Expect some disillusionment surrounding a friendship or group involvement; this may, however, work to your advantage.
Best days for Aries:  May 22-23

TAURUS (Apr 20-May 20)The New Moon occurs in your First House of action, identity and personal presence.  The spotlight shines on you this month, so use it to your advantage.  Put your best foot forward and use your appearance and presentation style as a tool to enhance your confidence.  You have a particular bloom this month that attracts people to you; stock up all that honey, money and sweetness for less fruitful times.  Sharing with your mate or business partner is also a good idea. A shift of ideals related to a supervisor or to career and business income makes it important to cultivate good relationships all around.
Best days for Taurus:  Apr 27-28, May 24-25

GEMINI (May 21-Jun 20)The New Moon occurs in your Twelfth House of spirituality, retreat and behind-the-scenes activities.  You may want to keep a low profile this month and see what your nighttime dreams have to tell you.  Relaxation may bring inspiration that resolves your biggest concerns.  Aim for balance between retreat and practical service through work; chances are you've been either working too hard or relaxing too much lately.  Spiritual pursuits or a long-distance trip over water may give you new perspective, as long as you don't go too far out.
Best days for Gemini:  Apr 29, May 26

CANCER (Jun 21-Jul 22)The New Moon occurs in your Eleventh House of friends, groups, business income, humanitarian causes, and long-range hopes and wishes.  Beginnings or changes in these areas may occur for you this month.  You can stabilize long-held hopes and wishes with practical action.  Solicit friends and use your creativity to help accomplish this.  Shifting realities or ideals around sexuality and joint finance will be a background theme; don't let these occupy too much attention.
Best days for Cancer:  May 2

LEO (Jul 23-Aug 22)The New Moon occurs in your Tenth House of authorities, reputation and career.  You may be more professionally active than usual this month, especially with the public or those in positions of leadership.  You can stabilize relations with a supervisor or VIP clients as well as align yourself with those of similar values. Changes in your home life need to be balanced with career commitments this month.  Ideals regarding relationships or sexuality may shift and change near the end of the month; wait until the smoke clears next month to make any major moves in these areas.
Best days for Leo:  May 4-5

VIRGO (Aug 23-Sep 22)The New Moon occurs in your Ninth House of religion, philosophy, higher education, long-range plans and long distance travel.  New doors may open for you in one or more of these areas.  Consider mapping out some details for a long range risk, even if only opening your mind to the possibility.  Lots of local trips by car, communication by telephone or writing, and general busyness may be part of your scene this month.  Make sure to get enough rest and relaxation, especially with a partner, for best results.
Best days for Virgo:  May 6-7

LIBRA (Sep 23-Oct 22)The New Moon occurs in your Eighth House of joint finances, sexuality and secrets.  Reviewing investments, refinancing, deepening partnerships through communication, and beginning counseling or therapy may be on the agenda this month. Determining where you stand with important joint projects and making new commitments or letting these go will be highlighted.  Some shift in creativity for yourself or your children may occur; keep a close watch on what interests you or children the most and begin to give form to these impressions even if the details don't come until later.
Best days for Libra:  May 9-10

SCORPIO (Oct 23-Nov 21):  The New Moon occurs in your Seventh House of partnership and marriage.  New partnerships or phases of an existing partnership may emerge at this time.  Take a look at your general approach to partnership and the balance you achieve between self and others.  Mysterious doings in your home environment might have you a little confused; a little extra listening and sensitivity to family members or those you live with may go a long way to clear things up. Consider redecorating or creating something new in your home environment.
Best days for Scorpio:  May 11-12

SAGITTARIUS (Nov 22-Dec 21):  The New Moon occurs in your Sixth House of work, health and service.  You may want to review your health and fitness regimes or organize your work environment for greater productivity.  You need to solidify certain work habits that can give you a better foundation for all your actions.  A doctor's appointment or health review could give you a reassuring reality check.  You may be doing a lot of driving, local travel and writing or communicating; get extra sleep this month to balance the mental stimulation.
Best days for Sagittarius:  May 13-15

CAPRICORN (Dec 22-Jan 19)The New Moon occurs in your Fifth House of romance, creativity, children and play.  New beginnings, breakthroughs or changes may occur for you in these areas.  Launch a creative project or find one you started in the past and bring it back to life. Focus on the childlike creative spirit within and bring a sense of play to whatever you do.  Enlist your friends or a group of like-minded people to further your creative goals.  You may not be quite sure how to proceed in furthering your work or income goals; let yourself get some impressions and work out the details next month.
Best days for Capricorn:  May 16-17

AQUARIUS (Jan 20-Feb 18)The New Moon occurs in your Fourth House of home, family and property.  You may want to move, reorganize or redecorate your living space.  You may have more than usual the amount of activity in or focus on your home this month.  You can stabilize your home environment or make a commitment to a new place successfully this month.  Shifts in your manner of personal expression or dress may emerge toward the end of this month; enjoy trying something new but don't spend too much money doing it.
Best days for Aquarius:  May 18-19

PISCES (Feb 19-Mar 20):  The New Moon occurs in your Third House of local travel, transportation, communication, neighbors and siblings.  Opportunities for change or new starts may emerge in these areas. Communicating your needs and exchanging information with others via  telephone, e-mail or fax brings you better success than going it alone. Putting ideas into concrete form or signing contracts should go reasonably well this month (but avoid signing May 20-23).  Make sure you look beyond the present moment and consider the big picture and how things will evolve in anything you take on.  Dress with a touch of glamor this month and get enough sleep so you look good doing it.
Best days for Pisces:  May 20-21
