This month's New Moon falls in the fluid and dualistic sign of Gemini. With Mercury also moving through Gemini, it's a great month to start new projects related to writing, speaking, data gathering, local networking, automobiles and transportation, technology and consumer electronics, education and general commerce.  The New Moon's sextile to Saturn brings stability and good judgment, and helps to solidify our mercurial ideas.

We tend to think of Gemini as a light, breezy sign that presides over spring weddings, pastel colors and the start of summer.  Certainly it's all this as well as great entertainment -- a Gemini friend can freshen up a party by introducing new topics or jokes and keeping the conversational flow going.  Yet under a Gemini New Moon, Gemini's shadowy twin can surface as well, bringing the trickster, the non-stop talker, the depressive and even the amoralist to the fore, showing us where we may be superficial, unkind, brooding or selfish, and act based on expedience rather than principle.  There's a cunning quality to the shadow side of Gemini that's quite similar to Scorpio, and even more in need of the light of consciousness as its mutability makes it difficult to control.  Recognizing these shadow impulses of Gemini within ourselves without allowing them to damage our own or others' well-being may be a lesson for the month.  Mercury enters its shadow period and begins to slow down for its July 4 retrograde on June 18. Expect projects to build forward momentum until near this time, and then a period of reworking or reflection to begin.

Matters of love and art may still be on deck with a waning Venus-Pluto trine and Venus-Mars square present at this New Moon.  Enjoy the passionate feelings these aspects energize and express your creativity. The most stimulating, high-aspect days this month are May 31, June 3, June 8, June 19 and June 21.  Use the energy on these days to accomplish if you like, but realize activity or tensions could be high and lay low if things start to get a little crazy.  The Uranus station June 19 may bring surprises (see sign forecasts) that jolt us into an exciting summer.
