Fresh Air

Life is not a struggle.  It's a wiggle. - Peter McWilliams

Anyone caught in a dull or overly intense conversation at a social gathering will pray to have a Gemini walk into the room and start some verbal or physical juggling -- to bring fresh air, levity and humor into the scene. This month's New Moon in Gemini, doubly emphasized by its conjunction to Mercury in Gemini, asks us to talk things up, move around, go forward with communications and writing, take care of phone calls and paperwork, find humor in every day situations, stay open and curious and make new links with our environment.  It's a good time to travel locally and purchase cars or consumer electronics, too.

The four lavender trumpet vines growing along the fence in my front yard provide an interesting study in the Gemini approach -- as they grow, they shoot out damp tentacles of interest to the air, as if posing the question:  "What if I position myself here?  What if I attach myself there?"  "What if I whisper a secret or flirt with a neighboring plant on my way to deciding where I will go?"  Playing with possibilities before planting roots is the wonderful domain of Gemini.  As Alicia Silverstone's character Cher from the classic teen comedy Clueless puts it in a Gemini spirit upon walking into a party, "Let's make a lap before we commit to a location."  Make your own laps into new territory by extending your curiosity in new directions this month.  Trying new approaches to existing projects can go well also.

Gemini people typically pick themselves right back up again after an unsuccessful experiment and try a different approach.  Nothing is deeply emotional to Gemini, which in a positive sense helps these folks repeatedly start over without casting mistakes as rejections.  Of course, Gemini's detachment can be maddening for other signs, and need to be balanced with accountability and persistence, but the upside of Gemini can be its refreshing immunity from negative interpretations of events. For Gemini, it's all just data to adapt to one way or another, often by putting a clever or playful spin on it.

Uranus retrogrades June 14, bringing potential sudden changes, surprises or new awareness, especially in the house ruled by Uranus in the chart (where Aquarius is on the cusp; see sign forecasts).  Most of all, this is a month to remain flexible, curious, try new approaches, initiate contact with new people, appreciate the ease of flow with which things will seem to get done and laugh a lot.  From the Gemini perspective, as Peter McWilliams puts it, life's not a struggle, it's a wiggle.  And every moment starts with "What if?"

NEW MOON FORECAST FOR SUN AND RISING SIGNS
(sign dates are approximate depending on year of birth)

ARIES (Mar 21-Apr 19):  The New Moon occurs in your Third House of local travel, transportation, communication, neighbors and siblings.  Opportunities for change or new starts may emerge in these areas. Communicating your needs and exchanging information with others via  telephone, e-mail or fax brings you better success than going it alone. A sudden change in your friendships or long-range goals, or a sudden chance to follow your dreams may emerge.
Best days for Aries:   Jun 28-29

TAURUS (Apr 20-May 20)The New Moon occurs in your Second House of earned money, possessions and values.  New work or income opportunities may come your way this month.  It's a great month to reconsider the purpose of your work and surround yourself with coworkers and clients who share your values.  Take any abrupt happenings with friends, groups or supervisors/VIP clients in stride and remain flexible.
Best days for Taurus:  Jun 30, Jul 1

GEMINI (May 21-Jun 20)The New Moon occurs in your First House of action, identity and personal presence.  The spotlight shines on you this month, so use it to your advantage.  Put your best foot forward and consider making changes to your appearance that enhance your confidence.  Sudden changes in relations with people in authority or in long-held philosophical positions may take you by surprise.
Best days for Gemini:  Jun 6, Jul 2-3

CANCER (Jun 21-Jul 22)The New Moon occurs in your Twelfth House of spirituality, retreat and behind-the-scenes activities.  You may want to keep a low profile this month and see what your nighttime dreams have to tell you.  You may challenge authority or express ground-breaking ideas and opinions to the public in some way.  A sudden urge to travel or experience new spiritual or sexual expressions may emerge this month.
Best days for Cancer:  Jun 8-9, Jul 5-6

LEO (Jul 23-Aug 22)The New Moon occurs in your Eleventh House of friends, groups, business income, humanitarian causes, and long-range hopes and wishes.  Beginnings or changes in these areas may occur for you this month.  Pushing yourself to talk to people you don't know in social situations may pay off well this month.  Mates or significant others may need more freedom than usual and demand that you honor their uniqueness and individuality.
Best days for Leo:  June 10-11

VIRGO (Aug 23-Sep 22)The New Moon occurs in your Tenth House of authorities, reputation and career.  You may be more professionally active than usual this month, especially with those in positions of leadership.  Unexpected developments with your mate or a significant partnership may occur; work routines may also be more erratic and hard to predict.  It's a good month to plan a spontaneous and exciting surprise for someone you care about--just remain flexible about the details.
Best days for Virgo:  Jun 13-14

LIBRA (Sep 23-Oct 22)The New Moon occurs in your Ninth House of religion, philosophy, higher education, long-range plans and long distance travel.  New doors may open for you in one or more of these areas.  Considering a long range risk, even if only opening your mind to the possibility, is a good idea this month.  Expect the unexpected in work routines, creativity or children's schedules.
Best days for Libra:  Jun 15-16

SCORPIO (Oct 23-Nov 21):  The New Moon occurs in your Eighth House of joint finances, sexuality and secrets.  Reviewing investments, deepening partnerships, and considering counseling or therapy may be on the agenda this month.  You make good progress with research or investigations of any kind.  Expect the unexpected with regard to children's schedules, home environment or family gatherings.
Best days for Scorpio:  Jun 17-19

SAGITTARIUS (Nov 22-Dec 21):  The New Moon occurs in your Seventh House of partnership and marriage.  New partnerships or phases of an existing partnership may emerge at this time.  Looking at your general approach to partnership and the balance you achieve between self and others may be indicated.  Surprises in home or family matters or interesting new ways to communicate may emerge.  It's a good month to get your car serviced or make sure your transportation needs are up to snuff.
Best days for Sagittarius:  Jun 19-20

CAPRICORN (Dec 22-Jan 19)The New Moon occurs in your Sixth House of work, health and service.  You may want to review your health and fitness regimes or organize your work environment for greater productivity.  A doctor's appointment or health review could give you a reassuring reality check.  Something needs to be rethought about the way communications work together with your income and earning power; a new link in the communications area could be just the thing to increase your income.
Best days for Capricorn:  Jun 22-23

AQUARIUS (Jan 20-Feb 18)The New Moon occurs in your Fifth House of romance, creativity, children and play.  New beginnings, breakthroughs or changes may occur for you in these areas.  Launch a creative project or find one you started in the past and bring it back to life. Focus on the childlike creative spirit within and bring a sense of play to whatever you do.  Don't let any sudden changes in your income stream upset you; do something to revitalize your appearance and before long new income sources should come your way.
Best days for Aquarius:  Jun 24

PISCES (Feb 19-Mar 20):  The New Moon occurs in your Fourth House of home, family and property.  You may want to move, reorganize or redecorate your living space.  You may have more than usual the amount of activity in your home this month.  Family gatherings should be lively and talkative.  Your dreams may be a clue to ways you can affect your appearance or presentation for the better.
Best days for Pisces:  Jun 26-27
