Sol Negra
The transiting fixed Grand Cross is about as Grand as it gets this
month, with planets positioned on all four fixed sign points:
Sun, Moon, Mercury, Chiron in Aquarius; Saturn in Leo; Jupiter
in Scorpio; and Mars in Taurus. This may equate to a feeling
of being stuck and slow, or a slowly culminating sense of accomplishment
and established foundations that has yet to pay off in visible
results. The seeds of organizational, technical, scientific
or relational breakthroughs are being planted now, gestating behind
the scenes. If we are patient, we may have intermittent glimmers of positive
future outcomes. Especially significant is the opposition of the Sun, Moon, Mercury
and Chiron to Saturn, testing our ego desires and challenging
us to find mental or expressive projects we can slowly implement
and chisel into form. Alchemists of old talked about Sol Negra,
the black sun. By enduring the tests of Saturn's sometimes
dark opposition to our collective will (Sun) with discipline,
persistence, detachment or renewing retreat we have the potential
for our soul force to shine brighter later in the year (July-August)
when the Sun moves through its home sign of Leo. The mutual
reception of the Sun in Aquarius with Saturn in Leo in February
tells us that persistence can bring illumination. Venus still retrograde until February
3 adds to the continuing reflection on our values and priorities,
though we are likely further along at knowing what we deeply need
and desire than we were a month ago, and can begin to implement
these needs and desires once Venus returns to direct motion. To
recap from last month: the challenge in relating during this fixed
Grand Cross cycle is to find a combination of effective social
boundaries (Taurus) and fluid social interchange (Aquarius, sign
of the water bearer) that leaves all feeling safe (Taurus) and
renewed (Aquarius) instead of stubbornly (Taurus) disinterested
(Aquarius) and stuck in respective positions (fixed sign Grand
Cross). Do something surprising yet practical for those you love this Valentine's
Day, and try not to be too fussy about how your surprise turns

MOON FORECAST FOR SUN AND RISING SIGNS ARIES
(Mar 21-Apr 19): The New Moon occurs in your
Eleventh House of friends, groups, business income, humanitarian
causes, and long-range hopes and wishes. Beginnings or changes
in these areas may occur for you this month. Things start
to straighten out in your career and reputation, as well as your
income and love life. TAURUS
(Apr 20-May 20): The New Moon occurs in your
Tenth House of authorities, reputation and career. You may
be more professionally active than usual this month, especially
with the public or those in positions of leadership. Health
matters start to improve and you can more easily implement changes
in work routines or personal appearance. GEMINI
(May 21-Jun 20): The New Moon occurs in your
Ninth House of religion, philosophy, higher education, long-range
plans and long distance travel. New doors may open for you
in one or more of these areas. Consider taking a long range
risk and mapping out some details, even if it's only opening your
mind to the possibility. Matters regarding joint finances
and sexuality become more clear. CANCER
(Jun 21-Jul 22): The New Moon occurs in your Eighth House of
joint finances, sexuality and secrets. Reviewing investments,
refinancing, deepening partnerships through communication, and
beginning counseling or therapy may be on the agenda this month.
Partnerships and relationships begin to improve, as does your
home environment and friendships.
LEO (Jul
23-Aug 22): The New Moon occurs in your Seventh House of
partnership and marriage. New partnerships or phases of
an existing partnership may emerge at this time. Take a
look at your general approach to partnership and the balance you
achieve between self and others. Work
routines and health regimes may be implemented successfully now.
Communications improve with siblings, neighbors and persons
of importance to your career. VIRGO
(Aug 23-Sep 22): The New Moon occurs in your
Sixth House of work, health and service. You may want to
review your health and fitness regimes or organize your work environment
for greater productivity. A doctor's appointment or health
review could give you a reassuring reality check. You've
clarified certain important principles regarding your children
or your approach to recreation. Now you may begin to implement
these in practical financial or spiritually-related ways. LIBRA
(Sep 23-Oct 22): The New Moon occurs in your
Fifth House of romance, creativity, children and play. New
beginnings, breakthroughs or changes may occur for you in these
areas. Launch a creative project or find one you started
in the past and bring it back to life. Focus on the childlike
creative spirit within and bring a sense of play to whatever you

local travel, transportation, communication, neighbors and siblings.
Opportunities for change or new starts may emerge in these areas.
Communicating your needs and exchanging information with others
via telephone, e-mail or fax brings you better success than going it alone. Personal income starts to improve and you've
got a track on the best income sources for you. Gently iron
out any remaining friction among your friends or co-workers. CAPRICORN
(Dec 22-Jan 19): The New Moon occurs in your Second House of earned money,
possessions and values. New work or income opportunities
may come your way this month. It's a great month to reconsider
the purpose of your work and surround yourself with coworkers
or clients who share your values. A check on your personal
appearance and maybe a new haircut or manicure may be in order.
Relationships with supervisors and important career connections
improve, especially if you make time for 1-2 fun recreational
events this month. AQUARIUS
(Jan 20-Feb 18): The New Moon occurs in your First House of action,
identity and personal presence. The spotlight shines on
you this month, so use it to your advantage. Put your best
foot forward and use your appearance and presentation style as
a tool to enhance your confidence. You're
still feeling a little tender and prone to hang back behind the
scenes, as you're not sure you can count on family support. Give
them a little more time and they're likely to come around. Reviewing
your philosophies and beliefs gives you comfort and courage. PISCES
(Feb 19-Mar 20): The New Moon occurs in your Twelfth House of
spirituality, retreat and behind-the-scenes activities.
