Abundance and Vision
I call
on the resting soul of Galileo
king of night vision, king of insight
-Emily Saliers - Indigo Girls
Like the archer's arrow shooting straight
into the sky with single-pointed vision, I'd like to offer one overarching
thought for contemplation this month: gratitude. Mostly because
I'm in Jupiterian overwhelm (all good!) and leaving on a long-distance trip
(Sagittarius) related to higher education (Sagittarius) soon!
With this month's New Moon in abundant,
visionary, far-reaching Sagittarius, and several other planets transiting
in Sagittarius as well, it's a good month to express warmly felt thanks for
the area(s) of life in which we are likely each experiencing abundance and
new direction (read both Sun and rising signs):
Aries (Mar 21-Apr 19): 9th
house - education, teaching, long-distance travel, optimism, faith, risk-taking,
long-range plans, athletics, religion, spirituality
Taurus (Apr 20-May 20): 8th
house - joint finances, investments, taxes, insurance, sexuality, investigations,
gifts, cooperative efforts, wise use of power

- relationships, partnerships, seeing the other, balancing power, legal matters,
social poise, social engagement
Cancer (Jun 21-Jul 22): 6th

body mechanics, practical devotion
Leo (July 23-Aug 22): 5th

children, romance, coming from the heart

foundation, family traditions, residence changes
Libra (Sep 23-Oct 22): 3rd
house - local travel, transportation,
communication, neighbors, siblings, education, mental stimulation, home electronics
Scorpio (Oct 23-Nov 21): 2nd
house - earned money,
possessions, values, income opportunities, solo ventures,
financial ethics
Sagittarius (Nov 22-Dec 21):
1st house - action, identity,
personal presence, direct action, presentation style, fitness goals, wardrobe,
being in spotlight
Capricorn (Dec 22-Jan 19): 12th
house - spirituality, retreat, behind-the-scenes
activities, low profile, dreams, symbols, relaxation
Aquarius (Jan 20-Feb 18): 11th
house - friends, groups,
leadership positions in groups, business income, humanitarian
causes, long-range hopes and wishes
Pisces (Feb 19-Mar 20): 10th
house - authorities,
reputation, career, supervisors and VIP clients, professional activity, leadership,
visibility
These house placements of the New Moon
also suggest areas where we can expand our reach (Jupiter) toward beneficial
outcomes, and may even be lucky enough to have these positive outcomes find
us without much effort.
Nevertheless, such a conglomeration
of Sagittarian planets in one or two zones of the chart can exacerbate difficult
situations related to these houses if we've not heeded Saturn's lessons of
restraint and attention in these areas in the past. We may also need
to avoid overdoing it in one particular direction.
Yet as the Great Benefic, Jupiter's
likely to be bringing significant bounty to one or more areas of our lives,
which may turn out to hold the seeds of great meaning for our future. Rarely
do we get such obvious cosmic pointing to our optimal direction as we do
this month with the Great Arrow of Sagittarius at the New Moon directed outward
from the Galactic Center, and concentrated in specific chart houses.
Take the time, perhaps in a quiet nighttime
moment with a candle lit, to tap into the deep yet broad vision the Universe
is giving for the next phase of life. Feel this vision from deep within,
a vision that befitting the sign Sagittarius, we experience as soulful, cheery,
warm, optimistic and energetic, a vision to carry us through the winter months.
